December 2022 is shaping up to be a big month for Sporcle Events players. As a thank you to all of our new Events players around the country, as well as those of you who have been with us for years, we have some exciting things happening this month – for all of you.
First of all, we want to thank you all for your patience as we have come out of the previous years’ events having to figure out how to make things fun and engaging for all of our Sporcle Events players, both new and seasoned. We know some things have changed with our plans as the year has progressed, but we’re thrilled to be able to offer you the following this month.
League Championship Week (12/5/22-12/11/22)
Our second regular season of 2022 wraps up this week, with final games on Sunday, December 4. The following week, December 5 – December 12, will consist of a traditional week of determining who the League Championship is at every in-person Sporcle Event, including Stump!, Pub Quiz, and Opinionation. The Globe League team at each event with the highest combined game one and game two score will be named that venue’s League Champion, which will live in perpetuity on team’s page.
Globe Games Week (12/12/22-12/18/22)
The following week will be Globe Games Week at every in-person Sporcle Event! At every in-person Sporcle Event this week, the Globe League team with the highest combined game one and game two score will be awarded $50 in cash! Additionally, we’ll be awarding a $50 cash prize randomly to one Globe League team who plays in each Virtual Pub Quiz show every night this week! These prizes are in addition to the standard prizes every venue awards on a weekly basis.
Not only that, but every Globe League team that plays during Globe Games Week will be entered into a drawing for one of two $500 cash prizes! Each month of 2022 that your Globe League team recorded a score will earn you an entry into the drawing. The longer you’ve been a Globe League team, the better your odds, but any Globe League team can win!
As promised, we’ll be awarding over $25,000 in cash during Globe Games Week, as our thank you to every single one of the players who supported us by playing Sporcle Events during 2022.
The Globe League in 2023
While we relaunched the Globe in 2022 and made it available for all players across the country, we’re really taking things to the next level in 2023.
- A return of regional tournaments!
- $1,000 winner-take-all events held at multiple locations across the country in June and December
- Every participating team will take home some Sporcle swag
- These events are for all of our formats: Pub Quiz, Stump!, Opinionation, and Virtual Pub Quiz
- Winning a League Championship at your weekly event will earn you first dibs at participating in one of these tournaments
- The return of the Cash Tour!
- Every bar or restaurant that becomes a Cash Tour stop will award the top Globe team that night an additional $100 in cash that week
- We’ll announce a handful of locations as Cash Tour stops each week (starting in Feb 2023)
- This is in addition to the regular weekly prizes offered by each venue
- The Globe National Championship at SporcleCon
- Any team wins a League Championship at your regular venue will receive a promotional code for $25 off tickets for each member of your team to attend SporcleCon
- All eligible and attending teams will be able to face off in a Pub Quiz/Stump!-format National Championship game during SporcleCon, with the winners earning a National Championship trophy and a $5,000 prize!

In total, we’ll be awarding over $100,000 in cash prizes in 2023 to Globe League Teams.
